Eligibility and Prerequisites
Program Options
Prospective students of various educational backgrounds may be eligible for program admission. To be considered for admission, prospective students must follow one of the pathways outlined below: University/College Affiliate Program (3+1) This pathway is for students enrolled in degree programs at the following affiliate universities/colleges: Benedictine University, Elmhurst University, Lewis University, North Central College and Roosevelt University. Students will complete 3 years of undergraduate and prerequisite coursework at their home institution followed by 14 months of clinical training and instruction at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Upon successful completion of degree and program-specific requirements, the student's home institution will confer a baccalaureate degree upon the student and Northwestern Memorial Hospital will award a certificate of completion. Affiliate students must apply to the radiation therapy program and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher for undergraduate courses (cumulative and prerequisite courses) and have completed all prerequisite courses with a grade of “C” or higher. Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program This pathway is for applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree (science-related preferred) from an accredited college or university with a degree GPA of 2.5 or higher. Prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher and the cumulative prerequisite GPA must be 2.5 or higher. Upon successful completion of program-specific requirements, Northwestern Memorial Hospital will award the student a certificate of completion. Certificate Program for Radiologic Technologists This pathway is for applicants who have graduated from JRCERT or an equivalent program in Radiologic Technology with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher and the cumulative prerequisite GPA must be 2.5 or higher. All applicants must have an A.S. degree (or higher) and be registered by the ARRT at the time of matriculation. Upon successful completion of program-specific requirements, Northwestern Memorial Hospital will award the student a certificate of completion. Prerequisite Courses
The radiation therapy program builds on a foundation of the sciences, mathematics, and communication. All applicants must demonstrate successful completion of prerequisite college-level courses. A grade of "C" or higher in each course below and a cumulative prerequisite GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.

Please note: Meeting all application requirements does not guarantee acceptance and/or admission into the program. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to limit the number of interviews to twice the size of the incoming class. |
