BNA Program Academic Calendar and Curriculum

​The Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program consists of 120 clock hours of didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction delivered across 16-weeks. All program activities take place on Tuesdays or Fridays at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital downtown campus as outlined below for the upcoming cohort (which runs from October 2026 to February 2027):

Tuesday Cohort Program Dates:
​​October 20 - Mandatory orientation
October 27 - First day of class
November 3, 10, 17, 24
December 1, 8, 15 (No class December 22 or 29 for Winter     Break)
January 5, 12, 19, 26
February 2, 9, 16, 23
March 1 - Graduation​

Friday Cohort Program Dates:
October 23 - Mandatory orientation
October 30 - First day of class
November 6, 13, 20, 27
December 4, 11, 18 (No class December 25 for Winter Break)
January 8, 15, 22, 29 (No class January 1 for Winter Break)
February 5, 12, 19, 26
March 1 - Graduation

Program Hours:
Didactic/Classroom days: 8:00am - 5:30pm
Clinical days: 6:30am - 3:30pm
